Turn to the Lord with All Our Heart, Soul, and Might

From my reading this morning, I came across this Scripture that just grabbed me...

2 Kings 23:25
25 And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him. http://www.lds.org/scriptures/ot/2-kgs/23?lang=eng

What a powerful legacy to leave. Personally, it stirs within me, such a desire to turn to the Lord with equal conviction. How can this be done? Only one way that I know of and that is ALL IN, 110%.

I teach my daughter's Sunday school class at church, they are 13 turning 14. On Sunday, I taught them about the parable of the ten virgins and explained how they were all virgins, which signifies that they were all faithful members of the church. Additionally, they were all in the right place at the right time because they were all waiting for the bridegroom, and all had testimonies of Christ. What was the difference? The difference was the difference between testimony and conversion. That is why they couldn't share their oil, because conversion can't be shared. One important piece to true and total conversion is TIME. We can't wait any longer to get on that path of total conversion.

I posted a post on my blog titled, Ye Never Knew Me, which applies to this parable as well. The bridegroom tells the 5 foolish virgins in Matthew 25:12, "Verily I say unto you, I know you not." If we look at the Joseph Smith Translation of this verse, it reads, "Verily I say unto you, Ye know me not." The difference is that it is not the Lord preventing them in, it is themselves. So here is the quote from my earlier post.

“How is it that the Lord has not known them? The Hebrew
word “know” [yada] has a broad range of meanings. One of them
is covenantal.” The Lord knows and is known by only those
individuals who have received and kept all of His ordinances and
covenants. Elder Bruce R. McConkie further explains:
Jesus is saying: “Ye never knew me so fully as to be sealed
up unto eternal life with your callings and elections made
sure, and since you did not magnify your callings in the
priesthood, you shall be cast out and be as though I never
knew you.” (He That Thrusteth in His Sickle with His Might … Bringeth Salvation to His Soul”: Doctrine and Covenants Section 4 and the Reward of Consecrated Service, pg 198) http://www.templethemes.net/publications/160811-Bradshaw-D&C%204.pdf. http://spiritualcrusade.blogspot.com/2016/12/ye-never-knew-me.html

For us to have this true and total conversion so that "We know Him" we need to start today and turn ourselves over to God, in faith, thought, and deed, just like this great king did, I mentioned earlier. We need to be actively adding the oil of conversion to our lamps and "not rest" (Alma 43:1http://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/43?lang=eng).

I will testify as we emerse ourselves in His work, our lives will be blessed in miraculous ways. I see this in my life on a daily basis and trust me the fruit is very sweet. We can only know how sweet, by actually experiencing it ourselves. Come join me, let's make a huge feast of this great fruit. :)
